The Amplification of Awfulness

Before I get to my point for this post, here's this idea. There is no one reason why, and even for each one reason, there is no definitive description for that reason. Why do we have this administration, backed by a movement that seems to make sense to those in it, but from the outside appears completely insane? There is an interconnected infinite quality to life, and any attempt to describe the why of a what will fall short. Or to say it more succinctly in someone else's words, The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.

Another related idea, perception is more powerful than reality. This is my way of saying, even if what I'm about to postulate is not true, it does help in gaining understanding of the movement that has hijacked our democracy, and hopefully will help me find a way to take effective action. For writing about the issues will only have meaningful value if it leads to taking effective action. Another important platitude: talk is cheap. Blogging is talking.

Okay, guilt assuaged, on to my point.

I shall be using the term plutocrats to identify the people who have funded the activity to dismantle democracy. The ultra wealthy hired operatives to manipulate public opinion, and created the cult that blindly backs this administration. I don't think there is any disputing this. An early iteration of this cult was the Tea Party, the "taxed enough already" haters of government. Paid operatives were amplifying discontent, creating and promoting the tea party events, and directing the actions.

It's clear to liberals that the conservatives have been manipulated. What I'm working on getting at here, we liberals have also been manipulated by the same forces. Whatever ideas expressed in left leaning circles angered the right the most, those voices were amplified. I believe that cancel culture was a plutocrat created movement. Just like with the Tea Party, there were some fringe voices screaming. The paid operatives of the plutocrats made sure those voices were heard. Cancel culture hashtags were rewarded with upvotes, comments, likes, attention, even cash, encouraging the fringe voices to scream louder, drawing attention, gaining followers. Then the worst of the postings, the ugliest of the actions were broadcast into the conservative groups, fomenting outrage and division.

We have been manipulated by the wealthy to hate each other, to hate the government, and for one simple reason: power. Power in the form of money.

That's what it's all about, not the hokey pokey, money=power.
